Residents receive free admission to Mob Museum on Sunday

To commemorate Kefauver Day, the Mob Museum is offering Nevada residents free admission Sunday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Nonresidents receive a free admission when they purchase one entrance ticket.

The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement recognizes the anniversary of the Kefauver Committee hearings, which took place Nov. 15, 1950, at the federal courthouse and U.S. Post Office (now The Mob Museum). Launched by U.S. Sen. Estes Kefauver, D-Tenn., the outcome of these hearings played a pivotal role in the development of Las Vegas as the nation's gaming capital.

The Mob Museum is located downtown at 300 Stewart Ave. For more information, visit or call 702-229-2734.
