Lucky Dragon to hold grand opening

Lucky Dragon will hold its grand opening Saturday, Dec. 3.

The property will commemorate the opening with an extravagant series of Asian demonstrations. Among the planned festivities are a firecracker show, which typically accompanies many Asian holidays and celebrations, driving away evil spirits; a lion and dragon dance, bringing good luck and good fortune to all; and the world’s largest traditional Kung Fu tea service will run throughout the hotel-casino.

The 200-room Asian-themed property has been open for two weeks after a soft opening Nov. 19. Lucky Dragon, the first resort built from the ground up in Las Vegas since The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas was completed in 2010, is on the north side of Sahara Avenue about a half-mile west of Las Vegas Boulevard.

The property’s 27,500-square-foot casino, with 37 table games and 300 slot machines, is dominated by a massive centerpiece dragon created to give players good luck.

The property’s five restaurants include the Jewel Kitchen, which offers freshly prepared Chinese food. There also is a dim sum restaurant where diners can choose live seafood from a tank, a fine-dining restaurant that will serve delicacies such as abalone, Kurobuta pork and deer tendon and a grab-and-go eatery.

Lucky Dragon’s grand opening will further establish the property as Las Vegas’ first casino resort to deliver an authentic Asian lifestyle experience.
