Reggae in the Desert returns June 10

Reggae in the Desert, Las Vegas’ largest reggae festival showcasing both the unifying power of reggae music and the Caribbean lifestyle, will be held Saturday, June 10, at the Clark County Amphitheatre, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. The all-ages music festival features Common Kings, Alborosie, Tanya Stephens, Passafire, Eljai, Inna Vision and more.
Las Vegas Film Festival takes place June 6-11

The 10th annual Las Vegas Film Festival will be held at Brenden Theatres and the Palms June 6-11. This year’s festival lineup includes a mix of feature films and documentaries that have been favorites on the international festival circuit, as well as animated works, shorts, music videos, festival labs and local films that were produced in Southern Nevada or were directed by a local filmmaker.

Hit New York City production “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man” premiered Saturday at Paris Las Vegas with stars Kendra Wilkinson (“Kendra on Top,” “The Girls Next Door”) and Jai Rodriguez (“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” ABC’s “Malibu Country,” Broadway’s “Rent”). Wilkinson and Rodriguez will headline a 12-week limited engagement.
Bavette’s Steakhouse to debut at Park MGM

Chicago restaurant group Hogsalt is the latest collaborator announced by MGM Resorts International and New York-based Sydell Group as part of the Park MGM culinary experience. Bavette’s, the brightest star of Hogsalt’s constellation of restaurant concepts, will make its mark in Las Vegas this October.
Jazz in the Park continues with Joey DeFrancesco

Flamingo rooms to be renovated

Caesars Entertainment Corp. will be launching a $90 million complete renovation of 1,270 rooms at Flamingo. The renovation will begin in late August 2017, with the first guest arrivals expected in November 2017, and final completion of all rooms expected in the second quarter of 2018.
